The stunning area, valley & lake of Tal-y-llyn are situated between Dolgellau to the north, Machynlleth to the south and Tywyn to the west, coming from the north after a turning at cross foxes onto the A487 there is a 2 mile straight road with the mighty Cader Idris to your right before you start the climb up to the top of Tal-y-llyn Pass, from here there is a small car park on your right which is worth a stop to enjoy the spectacular views looking down the valley toward Tal-y-llyn Lake in the distance, carry on down the steep sided pass and just after the Minffordd Hotel you can take a right onto the B4405 to get to the lake or right again into Cader Idris Car Park our main attraction here in Tal-y-llyn.
